MMS support is built into iPhone OS 3.0 and higher and works with iPhone 3G, 3GS, and 4 (but not the first-generation iPhone).
Multimedia Messaging, also known as MMS (for Multimedia Messaging Service), is a way to send video and pictures to and from cellular phones. It works like a text message, but instead of sending only words, it sends media. Step2-B: Download attachments from MMS messages with a single contact 1) Click your wanted contact name under the iPhone. 2) Turn to top toolbar and press 'Extract Media files from MMS' button or go File -> Extract Media files from MMS.
Sending an MMS message
You compose an MMS message a lot like you compose an SMS (text) message:
Tap the Messages icon on the Home screen to launch the Messages app.
Tap the little pencil-and-paper icon in the top-right corner of the screen to start a new text message.
At this point, the To field is active and awaiting your input.
Enter the person to whom you want to send an MMS message.
You can do three things to specify the person you want to message:
If the recipient isn’t in your Contacts list, type his or her cell phone number.
If the recipient is in your Contacts list, type the first few letters of the name. A list of matching contacts appears. Scroll through it, if necessary, and tap the name of the contact.
Tap the blue + icon on the right side of the To field to select a name from your Contacts list.
Tap the message area and enter your message with the keyboard.
Tap the camera icon to the left of the text-entry field at the bottom of the screen.
Select or create the photo, video, or sounds you want to send.
Tap Take Photo or Video and use your iPhone to take a picture or record video to send.
Tap Choose Existing to pick a multimedia file that’s already saved on your phone.
When you’re finished, tap the Send button.
Receiving an MMS message
If your phone is awake and unlocked when a message arrives, all or part of the message and the name of the sender appear on the screen in front of whatever’s already there, along with Close and Reply buttons. (A picture or video message appears in a bubble, just like a text message.) At the same time, the Messages icon on the Home screen displays the number of unread messages.
When you receive the notice that you have an MMS message, you probably want to see what it’s all about:
To view or reply to the message, tap Reply.
The message appears on the screen.
If you want to reply to the message on the screen, tap the text-entry field to the left of the Send button.
The keyboard appears.
Create your MMS message, and then tap Send.
Your conversation is saved as a series of text bubbles. Your messages appear on the right side of the screen in green bubbles; the other person’s messages appear on the left in gray bubbles.
I have a Galaxy S2 running Android 4.0.4. When people send me text messages with a picture attached, I receive the message but it says something like this, with a 'download' button:
When I press the download button, it changes to the text 'Downloading' for a moment, and then it changes back to the download button and nothing else happens. I was expecting the picture to open, or something. Is there some way I can download & view these pictures?
[Update]: I have seen other suggestions to turn on mobile data. I went to:
and verified that Mobile data = ON. As an experiment, I toggled it OFF then ON again, then pushed the Download button on my text message again, but got the same result (it said 'downloading' briefly then nothing).
I have also turned off auto-retrieve here:

Auto-retrieve is unchecked & still no success. I'm pretty stumped.
Update #2:Suggestion to check APN settings. I went to:
But there is no 'mobile' choice. There is a 'more => mobile networks' but it only has '3G data' and 'connections optimizer'. Is there some other way to find/set the APN settings?

I just solved this issue on my phone, mms only works through 3g or 4g. It doesnt work over wifi so turn your wifi off, turn your mobile data on and it will work! Or at least it did with mine anyway. That's had me stumped for a veeery long time haha I hope ive helped someone with this :-)
How To Download Mms Messages On Galaxy
I was using a Nexus 5 with Android 6.0.1 and had this problem (download button did nothing once pressed and therefore I was unable to receive MMS msgs). Google's Messenger App as SMS/MMS app.
I ended up calling FIDO and someone directed me to change the url for MMS proxy (in Access Point Names => FIDO LTE => MMS Proxy) to an IP address. I then turned off my phone, took out the SIM, re-inserted it and turned the phone back on. I was then able to receive text messages. I'm not sure which of those steps actually solved it, but together they worked.
