Funimation released the season in a box set on May 19, 2009 and announced that they would be re-releasing Dragon Ball Z in a new seven volume set called the 'Dragon Boxes'. Based on the original series masters with frame-by-frame restoration, the first set was released on November 10, 2009.

If you're looking to get into Dragon Ball Z or simply want to own digital copies of the classic anime, now is as good of a time as any.
The Microsoft Store is currently offering the first season for free (via Wario64). You can download all 39 episodes in HD, totaling about 16 hours of anime, right now here.
Subsequent seasons aren't free, but they are discounted fairly substantially from their usual $30 price. Seasons 2 and 3 are only $5 each, while the remainder are $10 each. This all comes as part of a broader anime month promotion that you can check out here.
These videos from the Microsoft Store can be streamed to various devices, including Xbox One, PC, and mobile, or downloaded for offline viewing. Alternatively, Funimation offers the show for streaming.
It's not the first time the Microsoft Store has had a promotion like this on Dragon Ball Z, but the sale prices are cheaper this time around.
